STEAMER SUNK AFTER COLLISION. By TelecraDh— Pros* Association-Oopyrtehl Gibraltar, August 9. During a fog the British steamer Silverton (2G82 tons') collided with tho French steamer. Emir (1291 tons) near •Tarifa. Tho latter, vessel foundered. Twenty-four of the crew and sixty-nine passengers wcro drowned. BOILER EXPLODES. Rotterdam, August 9. Tho boiler of tho steamer Gutenberg exploded while tho vessel was in port, and fJho sank. Two of the crew were tilled and two seriously injured. A number of passengers wero also injured.
