In tiro more settled parts of country electorates, however, a house-to-house canvass necessitating only on« visit was mado by enrolment officers for the purpose of enrolling electors and obtaining' informalidn as to removal!;, etc. This house-to-house, canvass was not extended to sparsely settled parts, but such lecniitios were provided for by depositing a copy of the roll at tlio nearest nost nr telegraph office, together with a supply of enrolment forms, and exhibiting there a printed notice drawing attention to the facilities given for enrolment.
