FRUITGROWERS' CONFERENCE

The principal remits to be submitted by the Canterbury Association at the Fruitgrowers Conference, which is to be held at Nelson iu October, are:— "That the Government should be urged to introduce a Bill making it compulsory to sell fruit, fish, and vegetables in all future public, municipal markets." "That cases should bo cliarged at Gd. per full case, and 4d. per half-case, and that all spraying material should be sold under a guarantee." It was also decided to recommend the conference to fully discuss cold storage, with a view to establishing cool stores iu all fruit-growing centres, and that tho Government should be urged to continue the guarantee of Id. per lb. on all shipments of fruit to Great Britain until such '-times as the experiment proves satisfactory.
