The Rugby Union passed, a resolution urging the New Zealand Union, in accordance with Rule 0 of the concisions governing the Ranfurly Shield matches, to immediately fix a date for a challenge match, Poverty Bay v. Auckland. Members expressed .indignation at the manner in which their challenge, sent in three or four months ago, had been ignored, and a date given tho South Auckland match in preference to theirs. ■ ' AUSTRALIAN MATCHES.
