PERSONAL ITEMS.
The Hon. H- P. Wigram, M.L.C, has been granted three weeks' leave of abEenco from his legislative duties, as ho has been laid aside by a strained tendon. Mr. Claude Campbell, of the Bank of New Zealand staff at Wellington, has been transferred, on promotion, to the branch office of tho bank at Lower Hutt. A Press Association message from Greymouth states that Mr. P. C. Webb, of t.ho State Mine Uhion, has announced his candidature for the Grey electorate. He is standing in the Labour interest. Mr. M. W. C. Sprott, M.A. (son of tho Anglican Bishop of Wellington), University of New Zealand, and Petcrhouse, Cambridge, assistant master at Wakefiola Grammar School, has accepted tho appointment of assistant-master at Victoria College, Jersey. The Rev. C._E. O'H. Tobin, late assistant curate at St. Mark's Church, Wellington, has been appointed vicar of Pongaroa, which place was recently left vacant by tho transference of the Bov. J. H. Stophenson to St. Augustine's, Petone.
