FIFTH REGIMENT.
BATTALION ORDERS. E-egimental orders by Liout.-Colonel W. G. Duthie, Fifth Wellington Hides, include the following items:— Lieut. C. W. Mellor has been appointed acting-quartermaster. In view of the probability of all coinpauieo being raised up to their complete establishment by the end of August, and tho consequent reissuing of arms and equipment to all those already serving, and new equipment to the new recruits, all arms and equipment are to bo returned to stores not later than August 19 next. After inspection they will bo reissued. Referring to a tendency in certain quarters to disregard battalion orders, it is pointed out that strict attention must be given to these, and that future cases of disobedience will Ira severely dealt with. The non-commissioned officers of tho regiment will be addressed on various aspects of their work by the Director of Staff Duties (Colonel E. S. Heard) tomorrow evening.
