THE LAST DAT. FANCY-DRESS CARNIVAE. Considering that the doors of the Cor* nation Exhibition have been open 6inco May 24 (Empire Day), the attendances havo kept up wonderfully, and it is known that tho financial result will be moro than merely satisfactory. 1 his is no more than the Wellington Industrial Association, which inaugurated tho big show, has deserved. There was a good attendance, chiefly of women, yesterday afternoon, tho attraction being a demonstration of paper-bag cookery by Mrs. A. l'crster Denny, at tho Wellington Gas Company's pavilion. Ihlt attracted as many women who could possibly catch a glimpse of the operations, below- or above. , Last evening a ball was held in the Stadium, :i more extensive reference to which appears elsewhere in this jfsue. To-day will see the close of tho Exhibition. It will bo marked by a grand fancy-dress carnival and dance, to bo held in tho Stadium, in connection with, which valuable prizes are offered. Apart Troui this ihti Exhibition should l>e thronged throughout tho dny, owing ,to tho many attractions promised. A prizo of .£5 will bo given to any person guessin" tho number nearest to (ho total figures registered by tho turnstiles throughout the day. Each one who enters will rcceivo n ticket, and on that ticket he or she is to write the number lie fancies, and place it in the box nearest the door. Every thousandth person who outers is to be presented wilh a valuable rolled gold watch, and JC7 worth of pnzrs nre to be distributed to the children in tho Stadium during the aftcrncou. ■V demonstration of the new patent gas mangling and ironing machine is to bo i-ivcii at the Wellington Gas Company's pavilion this afternoon and evening. Tho art union in connection with the show of Mr. W. G. Baker's-pictures is to bo drawn this evening. CHRISTCmmCH COMPANY'S EXHIBIT. Tho variety and excellence of the Christchurch" Meat Company's exhibit of meat and by-products has already been noted. One of. the product's which is given a prominent place in tho display is the C.M.C. exhibit of meat packed in porcelain jars. The company distributed a quantity of sample jars free to visitors to the Exhibition, and tho samples have met with high encomiums. Tho company states that it is prepared under special hygienic conditions and under tho supervision of a highly qualified chemist working on scientific lines, and is also mndo i'rom the primest of meat killed under inspection and passed by a New Zra'.oiid Government veterinarian officer. This is a guarantee for purity and quality, apart from the fact that the C.M.C. Extract shows from analysis that it contains 50 per cent, more nourishment than tho imported article, while it is sold for half the cost. The C.M.C. Extract is specially recommended by the medical faculty for invalids, and is alike invaluable for culinary purposes and J'or its stimulating and appetising qualities in the form (if boot ten. The extract is put up in altraellvo white porcelain jars, and h;\s a large solo over the Dominion and Australian Slates.
An attraction at (ho Exhibition is (ho beautiful exhibit of Mr. F. W. Monthey, of Mount Albert. It consists of nn exquisite variety of Australasian shells that have been worked into artistic designs by tho exhibitor, consisting of photo frames, handkerchief boxes, ami ornaments of manv kinds. This exhibit should draw considerable attention from patrons.— Advt. '
