A MAN WITH A REVOLVER.
PLACED UNDER ARREST,
"Some important information" was what a man said (hat he had to disclose when ho accosted Detective Hammond in the police station yesterday. • ' Admonished to tie brief, the stranger stated that ho was a sailor on Iho schooner Clyde, and informed the detective that, whon his ship was in Wellington, ho was in the habit of visiting a triend's house in Timikori Uoad. It appeared Hint, on his most recent visit to this house (on Sunday night) ho met with a very unpleasant rece))lion, and .announced his intention of "getting even. Detective Hammond deemed it iwvie. able to keep nil eye on the mini, and, later in the day. observed him in «illia Street, when, it is alloßod, lie was ,I!lua J ling a revolver, nml asking to be directed to a certain shop. The detective thereupon placed the man under arrest, and, this morning, ho is to be charged with being drunk while in possession of firearms.
