Basiro. superintendent engineer for tho AVollington Steam Forrios Company, visited Kaipara, and concluded negotiations for tho purchase of the vessel on behalf- of his company. Her engines are by tho Wallseud Shipway Company, England, and arc triple expansion, the diameters of tho cylinders bcintr 13 inches, ■ 21 inches, and 35 inches. Tho Awaroa has a largo cabin and dining-saloon aft, with a ladies' cabin on tho upper deck, A well-furnished smoke-room is placed on tho forward deck. Electric light is fitted, and steam steering gear is employed. ' Tho Awaroa. has a hold forward eap- . able of holding 200 tons of general cargo, j and it is the intention of her now owners i to fit this spaco up for passengers. She can steam 121 knots, and is to bo employed in the Wellington-Day's Bay service. Those who have E«en hw describe her as i ''a very fine littlo boat,"
