CENTRAL MISSION.
Tho Wellington Central Mission held its opening service at the New Theatre last evening. The theatre was packed, and a largo number had to bo refused admission. The Mission Band pl.ivod "The lord is in His Holy Temple,"'and Miss Mueller sang' "Light and Dark." "Though your Sins be as Scarlet" was rendered by the .Central Mission double quartet party.
The Rev. E. 0. Blamires spoke of life in some of tho darker quarters of Wellington. In passing, lie described a Chinese . gambling den. and also scenes which ho had witnessed in certain hotels visited on Saturday nights.
