WESLETAKS APPEAL FOR .£250,000. By Tclesraph-Press Associat'on-Copyrisht London, July U. At the Wesleyan Conference at Cardiff it was resolved to appeal for a quarter of a million for foreign missions.
Tho Wesleyan Missionary Centenary Committee met in London in May, with Mr. T. R, Ferons, M.P., in the chaiv. This was the first meeting, and it was largely attended. Tho Rev. Wm. Gomlie, who has been sot apart to work the- centenary celebration in 1913, gave a long ad.dress, insisting that the movement must first be a spiritual one of thankfulness, consecration, and hope. Abroad tho centenary is being eagerly laken up, and several districts aro aiming at raising largo sums of money. Text-books are being prepared, and Centenary Histories nro in the bunds of the Rev. Dr. G. 0. Findlny. Some of tho smaller handbooks are ready. Further particulars regarding the movement appeared in Saturday's is-suo of The Dominion, under tho heading of "Religious Activity."
