Tho official aviation record has remained with M. Legagncux since December 0 last. On that (late M. Legngneux ascended to a height of about 10,500 ft. at Pan, in France. On December 26 last the Into Mr. Archibald Hoxscy, at I,os Angeles, put 11.174 ft. to his credit, _ This was not officially recognised, as owing to an oversight, Mr, IToxsey's barograph was not calibrated at tho time of his high Uight, and it was smashed afterwards in the fall which caused the aviator's death.
