MR. MASSEY AT CHRISTCHURCH. IBy Telegraph.—Presa Association.) . Christchurch, July 8. Mr. W. F. Massey, Leader, of the Opposition, arrjvcd from Wellington this morning. In conversation with a,reporter Sir. Massey spoko confidently of the prospects of the' Opposition party at the polls in the North Island.' Referring to the meeting addressed by him in Wellington on Thursday night Mr. Massey said it was ono of the largest and most successful that he had ever addressed. Mr. Massey courteonsly declined to be interviewed oa the subject of his difference with Mr. Taylor, M.P. Asked, whether Mr. Taylor would bo asked to preside at his meeting on Tuesday night in view of recent happenings, Mr. Massey said that the matter had nothing to do with him. It was in'the hands of his committee. The committed had very properly asked the Mayor to preside as Mayor, and had nothing to do with the squabble of the two members of Parliament. Mr. Massey was then asked if, on Tuesday evening, ho would deal with the question raised by Mr. Taylor. Ho intimated that he did not desiro to reply to the question.
