(By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.} Hastings, July 8. ; The recent visit of Mr. Massey appears h have given a stimulus to political matters in this district. A requisition is being circulated asking Mr. A. L. D. Fraser to oontest the Hawke's Bay seat, and it is believed that he will consent to become a candidate. There are already four other candidates announced' for this constituency, namely, Messrs. Hugh Campbell (Opposition). Eustace Lane (Independent), A. E. Jull (Government), and H. Lan Siinson (Government). It is-not certain whether the 'Sitting member, Mr. A. Dillon, will neck re-election. His health lately has been far from good.
