Jack Johnson, the world's heavy-weight boxing champion, on.being interviewed by the "Sportsman" denied that ho had signed an agreement to fight Lang iiv Sydney, as stated. He. did not- want, to go to 'Australia, especially to' fight Lang,, whom he had previously easily defeated. - The articles in connection with the pro■jccted professional boxing coutest between Arthur Kelly (Dave Smith's sparring partner) and Sid Sullivan were forwarded to Sydney on i'rklny last to get the latter's signature. The date of the contest has not yet been decided. The following have been chosen to represent the nroviuce in the New Zealand amateur championships at Invercargill:—Kutnor (banturn), Tancred (welter), il'Carthy (light-weight), llllis (feather-weight). These' are instructed to keep in training with a view to the above.
