Perry won the "smelling" competition —a number of substances, varying from kerosene to a concoclion, prepared by a chemist, being placed in bottles, tho contestants having to identity the contents of the bottles by tile sense of smell. Some of the ladies then retired behind scrccns, only their eyes being visible through loop-holes in the screens. the gentlemen liau then to name the owners of tho eyes. There were nine pairs of eyes 011 exhibition, and Mr. Ron. Law guessed the lot. Mr. Hiehai'dson was second. Miss Montcath's team won tho

"Firo Brigade" competition. Songs wore contributed by Miss Asquith, Miss Laurvig; duet by Mrs. Carter and Miss Laurvig. Sister Moody Bell gave a reading, and Miss Phyllis Gunning played a pianoforte selection. A sketch, entitled "Aunt Betsy's Beaus," was the next item, the east consisting of Miss Monteath, Mrs. Laurvig, Misses Smith, Asqitith, and Linscll. The tinaJe consisted of the lirst npi>earancc of tho "Lady Savages," Monteath, Linscll, Wicklift'o, Laurvig, and Asquith. They were recalled four times.
