STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.
$ CANADIAN CATHEDRAL WRECKED. By Telegraph—Press Association-Oopyrleht (Rec. July 6, ( 0.50 a.m.) Ottawa, July 5. Fredericton Cathedral has been struck by lightning, and the interior destroyed. The chimes were also ruined. The building was one of the finest in Canada. Fredericton is the capital of New Brunswick. Tho Cathedral is a small but beautiful Gothic building of grey stone, with a spire 180 feet high. It stands in a pretty wooded "close near the Provincial Parliament Buildings. Tho building of the structure was begun in 1819, through the exertions, and largely at the expense of, Bishop Medley, who is buried in tho choir.
