Mr. AV. H. Cook, engineer to the Petono Borough Council, has been appointed engineer- to the Hastings Borough Council. Mr. Cook has, in addition to pursuing his ordinary duties) been manager of. the local gas works for the past seven years. Previously lie was engineer 1o the South AVairarapa County Council. During his career at Pctone, ho successfully carried out several extensive works. He is credited with having the longest term 'of service of any Petone borough engineer" lo date.
