REMITTANCE MAN'S DEATH. (By Telecraph—Press Association,! • Au.'v'.land, July 3. Arthur John Kbmiield, a .remittance man, forty-seven years of age, died in the Mount Eden Gaol while on remand to get over the effects of a drinking bout. Deceased was well connected in-the Old Country, and at. one time practised as a solicitor in England. FATALITY AT AUCKLAND. Auckland, July 3. A workman named William Jones was engaged in dismantling an old boarding-' house in tho city this afternoon, when a heavy case fell on him and ];nleu mm instantly. Deceased was about 55 years of, age. DROWNED IN NELSON HARBOUR. Nelson, July 3. The body of Airs. Ann Borroman, aged G2, a resident of Cape Foulwind, was found floating in the harbour this afternoon. She .had been staying in Nelson and was missed about 2.30 p.m., having failed to pay an expected visit to a relative. She leaves a grown-up family. SUICIDE. Dunedin, July 3. The police have received advice that a mqn named Richard Terry, aged 86 years, residing at ICakapuaka, near Balciutha, committed suicide to-day by shooting himself. • CITY INQUEST. The City Coroner (Dr. A. Jl'Arthur, S.AI.) held an inquest at Austin Street yesterday afternoon touching the death of Daniel Hiokey, who died suddenly on Saturday night. Sergeant M'Crorio represented the. police. The verdict returned was; "Death from heart failure due to senile decay." Newly-married couples"aro invited to visit Alessrs. A. L.
