BOWLING TOURNAMENT. .HAPPY HOURS AT THE STADIUM. The Coronation Bowling Tournament commenced at the' Stadium in the Exhibition on Saturday .-afternoon at 2 o'clock, and attracted a very satisfactory lot of entries, no fewer .than 27 links from the various city and suburban clubs taking part. The tournament, which is being mnnagcd;by;Mr. J. J. Roberts, is-being played under: the'rules of the Northern Bowling Association. The games are limited to two hours from the notified time _of starting,'and m order to prevent any . timo being "wasted on' the last" head by the team which happens to have a lead, the management decided to ring a boll fifteen minutes before the time for the game has expired, after which the jack is allowed to be thrown up once more. That is to say, that only one head is permitted to be played after the bell rings. Tho "green" consists of three thicknecces of scrim laid on the Neuchatel asphalt floor, instead' of two, as was the'.. case in-the last tournament. This has helped to take the edge of the keenness of the groan, and makes for better play all round.' The tournament,, which, was played from '2' p.m. to 10 on.
