ANOTHER ADDRESS,
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Gore, July 2. Sir James Carroll gave a political address at Gore on' Saturday night, the meeting being largely attended. Tlie Acting-Premier stated that lie had been a participant in the administration of their affairs for many years, and though absent from the south in person, his efforts bad not been confined entirely to the north. He had come south with the feeling that be bad done his best in tbe interests of both places. Ho had been twenty years in the House, and for the whole of that time had been identified with the Liberal party, which still stood to-day as the progressive party. The people should bo proud that they were leading in the world of advanced legislation. He referred to the Opposition criticism regarding Native lands on the lines of his Invcrcargill speech.
Thu Hon. A. T. Ngata also explained the position of the Native Lands Department.
