MANAWATU HUNT.
A RUN AT JACKEYTOWN. A successful "meet" of the Mannwatu Hunt (.'luh was held at Jackeytown ou \\ cdnesday afternoon, when (notwithstanding thu cold weather) there was a big ficid, and a large number of spectators. Three runs were held, and there was some very fine jumping. The only "spill" throughout the afternoon happened to the. huntsman, who camp to griel at the last fence in tho final run, and had on-e of bis'ribs fractured. Mr. Bruce M'Ewen (Master), ou Ringman, was in charge of tho field, the drag being laid by Mr. J. C. Buick. Afternoon tea. was dispensed bv Mrs. and Miss Buick. Lancaster on Princess, G. A. Lancaster on Crusader, J. Carter on Palmerston, AV. Fisher on The Eogiio, IX Bennett on Lin.wtl, T. Shaw on Merrylegs, I." Shaw on Kaka, J. Donaldson on Lulu, J. Buick oir Ongarue, B. J. Kolleher on Review, J. Hunter on AVaipuehu. Among the lady spectators wpro: M"rs. 13. ll'Ewen, Mrs.' Nairn, Miss T. Buick, Miss Dunk, Mrs. AV. Edwards, Mrs. Scott, Mrs. J. K.
