NEW ORIENT LINER.
THE ORAMA LAUNCHED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, Juno 2". Tho Orient liner Omnia has been launched on the Clyde. She will sail on her first voyage in November The Orama is tlio last of a series of six new steamers of about 12,000 tons each, which the Orient Company has lately been adding to its fleet. Tho Omnia is being built by Messrs. John Brown and Co., of Clydebank, and the company expects delivery of her in September. She will be similar in scheme of passenger accommodation to the Orvicto and Otranto, but of larger tonnage and with triple instead of twin screws. An exhaust turbine is being fitted in her, in combination with twin reciprocating engines. The chairman of the company, Sir Kenneth Anderson, states that this arrangement, first tried in the New- Zealand Shipping Company's Otaki, has now passed out of the experimental stage, and that the extra cost is likely to bo amply justified.
