Among those present were Lord Chelmsford (Governor of New South Wales), Lord Cowdray, Lord Pentland (Secretaiy for Scotland), Co: nel Seely (Under-Secre- ■ tary for War), Mr. Fisher (Mine Minister of Australia), Sir N, E. Lewis (Pieniier of Tasmania), Mr. P. Wilson (Premier of AVest Australia), Senator Sir A. J. Gould (New South Wales), Sir John Quick (Victoria), Sir J. Synion (South Australia), Sir \V. Lyne (New South Wales), Sir 5. Fairfax (Sydney), Major Bennett, Captain Collins, Colonel Reay, and many political celebrities and members of the House of CommonsLord Denman, in responding to the toast of his health, said he was going out with the advantage that he had met in London many with whom he would resume acquaintance in Australia. He was also going at a time of great Australian prosperity. Mr. Fisher, in proposing the health of Sir George and Lady Reid, thanked them for the way in which they had looked after tho Australian visitors in London, and assured Lord Denman of a hearty welcome in Australia. NEW SOUTH WALES DINNER. London, June 27. At the New South Wales dinner the State Premier (Mr. M'Gowen) and two hundred guests attended. Lord Chelmsford, Goverror of the State, proposed the health of Mr. M Gowen, paying a tribute to his qualities of simplicity and straightforwardness. Mr. M'Gowen, in reply, thanked the company for the kind reception given him. He said he had learnt more since coming to London of what Britain meant, and more of what kinship meant. He had seen in last week's display loyalty not only to the King, but to one another. A> reception hold afterwards by Mrs. Coghlan,, wife of the New South Wales Agent-General, was largely attended. Mr. Fisher, Commonwealth Prime Minister, and Mrs. Fisher were among those present. GROCERS' COMPANY BANQUET. ■ London, June 27. The members of the oversea Parliaments now visiting London were banqueted by the Grocers' Company; Sir John Quick, who responded for the Australian representatives, declared that Australians were even more Imperial than the Britishers, in their aspirations. Australians would like to see Imperial partnership and preferential trade within the Empire, with a common share of burdens and responsibilities.

John Brown and .Co.'s shipbuilding yard at ( Glasgow, and inspected the cruiser Australia, -which is to be the flagship of the Australian unit. He also visited the London\and Glasgow Company's shipbuilding yard, and inspected the Sydney, now under .construction, and went to Newcastle to sekthe ArmstrongWhitworth works. COUNTY COUNCIL BANQUET. London, J.uno 28. The London County Council bau'queted the overseas parliamentary representatives now in London at the Hotel -Cecil last night. \
