Wellington Wedding. A very pretty -wedding was celebrated at the home of Mr. and .Mrs. W. Wiggins, of Wellington, on Wednesday, when Miss Dorrie Wiggins was married to Mr. Nor- , man Baker, of Sydney. Tho ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. G. Chapman. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a very lovely gown of white duchess satin, with tunic of ninon, edged with fringe and .gold lace. With' this she woro a bridal veil thrown back, and carried a sheaf of magnificent lilies. Sho was attended by two bridesmaids, her sister (Miss Ira G. Wiggins) and Miss Grace Glover. Miss Wiggins wore primroso eharmeuse, with tunic of grey ninon, caught up with a bunch of violets,.while. Miss Glover's dress was of old rose, with a tunic of similar material to that of her co-attendant. Both bridesmaids woro Juliet caps and handsome necklets of tourmalines, the latter being the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr, W. Wiggins, jun., attended tho bridegroom as best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony, which was attended by a number of old and intimate friends of the family, the guests were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Wiggins, the usual toasts being duly honoured. The presents wero numerous and valuable, and wero much admired by those present. During the afternoon Mr. and' Mrs. Baker left Wellington to commence their bridal tour, which will not be completed until they have visited England and the Continent. Tho bride's going-away dress was a navy costume, handsomely braided, and a picture hat of tagel straw, with natural plumes. With this she ivore a beautiful set of ermines, one of the presents given her by the bridegroom. On their return fron their honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Baker will take up their permanent residence in Sydney. A Feilding Wedding. A wedding of considerable interest, writes our Feilding corraspondent, was celebrated at St. Bridget's Church at Feilding yesterday morning, when Mr. C. Harley Mextea, son of Mr. Walter Mex>ted, of-Feilding, and a former member of the Feilding Football Club, and well known all over New Zealand as a pedestrian, was married to Miss Elena Eyan, eldest daughter of Mrs. A. Eyan, of West Street, I'eilding. There was. a large assemblage of relatives and friends to witness the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her brother (Mr. J. Eyan. wore a cream cloth braided costume and a cream hat with ostrich plumes. Miss S. Eyan, sister of the bride, attended her <tts-'..fcridesiiiaid l wearing al/dress.'.ofado.vo-. coloured cloth trimmed with vieux roso braid, and a great hat to match. Mr. T. ■Eyan isas the. best man. The ceremony -was performed ...by . the_ Eev.. ..Father., O'Dwyer. At the conclusion of the' service a reception was held at the home of the bride's mother. St. Peter's Club Dance. St. Peter's Hall presented a very gay appearance last evening, when the tenth annual daflce of St. Peter's Club was held. Quantities of flags were, draped against the walls of the room, and suspended from tho ceiling, while the stage liad been carpeted and comfortably furnished for thoso sitting out. Supper was served in an adjoining room, the tables having been very prettily decorated with palms and foliage, and an excellent supper provided by Mr. S. Scott. Tho chaperones present wero Mrs. Sexton, wearing a handsome 'black eharmeuse frock with jet trimming; Mrs. Perry, in a black sil'ic dress with silver embroidery; and Mrs. 8011, in a dress of heliotropeshaded ninon, with oriental embroideries. Mr. G. Bell and Mr. F. G. Major were the joiit secretaries, and the committee was formed by Messrs. G. Bell, A. Butler, J. Harrison, G. Lawrence, F. G. Major, A. L. Maysmor, B. W. Millier, E. Walton, and A. G. Williams. The music was supplied by Mr. Fleming. An Afternoon Tea. Mrs. Ivano was the hostess at a very enjoyable tea given yesterday afternoon for -Miss Beatrice Day. Tea was served in the dining-room, tho table having been effectively arranged with autumn foliage, and with whito and yellow narcissi. 'Ilie same flowers decorated the drawing-room. Mrs. Ivane received her Guests in a very becoming dress of seagull grey ninon over silk, with touches of black silk and grey, embroideries. Miss Amy Kane was in a blue and white eharmeuse frock. Miss Beatrice Day wore a navy blue braided costume, furs, and a fur toque. Somo of thoso present were Mrs. F. M. B. Fishfer, Mrs. s. Harcourt, Mrs. Wvlie, Mrs. 0. B. Russell, Mrs, T. G. Macar'thy, Mrs. Christie, Mrs. Lichfield, Miss Hard-inge-Maltby, Mrs. Scaton, Mrs. Cecil Jones and Miss Jones, Lady OsborneGibbes, Mrs. C. Tringham, Mrs. Corliss, Mrs. F. Samuel, Mrs. Macarthy, and Mrs. W. H.- Hales. Miss Kane has been ill for several weeks, but was able to see . several of her friends, who were delighted to' see her convalescing. A Kindly Act. At the instance of Mrs. J. T. Luke, the Commissioners of the Exhibition entertained the children of the Presbyterian ■Orphanage by giving them the freedom of the Exhibition yesterday morning. Subsequently Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Luko entertained tho juvenile sight-seers at lunch as a pleasant sequel to a very happy day. For'an enjoyable outing, the thanks of Mrs. Mills (matron of tho homo) and her little charges were tendered, and "Three - cheers for Mr. and Mrs. Luke" concluded the proceedings. The Students' Oarnival. Tho second evening of the "Students' Carnival," held in tho Concert Chamber of the Town Hall last night, was again exceedingly well attended. Tho programme carried out was a very entertaining one, with no lack of variety. Tho farcical extravaganza "perpetrated by certain students" and telling of the adventures of "certain ladies and gentlement with bees in their bonnets," provided groat merriment, none of its points falling flat, and probably, being the second timo of its performance, was even better carried out than on the previous evening. Upon tho conclusion of the entertainment, the Chamber was cleared for dancing, a considerable number of people (many of them students), loth to terminate the carnival too soon, remaining behind. One end of the corridor was utilised as a supper-room, tho long tables being decorated with palms and chrysanthemums.

The floral decorations at the ball given at Government House on Tuesday evening were the work of Miss Murray, viceregal florist. Delightful music was supplied by M'Laughlin's Band. '
At a meeting of the Shakespeare Club held in the Arts Club Rooms last even- !">?• "itercstins paper, entitled ieople Shakespearean," was read by Mi=s Bright, and was greatly enjoyed by those present. Miss Holmes presided at the gathering. The paper was one previously fuT rii? i_.? ris:ht at thß Roneer Club a little while ago.
