« REGISTRATION COMPLETED. GRAND TOTAL, 57,382. Tho Adjutant-General of the New Zealand Forces (Colonel A. W. Robin, C.8.) has issued a statement showing tho final returns of tho registration of those liable for military training in New Zealand. For the week ended June 17 last, when tho registration period closed, the returns were as follow :—■■-. Auckland. Territorials 190 Senior Cadets 139 Canterbury. Territorials ...... 123 Senior Cadets 110 Otago. Territorials 150 Senior Cadets 115 Wellington. It is estimated that there are 30,000 youths between the ages of 18 and 21 who should bo registered I of this number 27,717 have complied with the terms of the proclamation, leaving a shortage of 2283, who will shortly bo looked up by tho officers of the Dopartment, and proceeded against. Of tho cadet ago—l 4to 18-rhero are estimated to be 41,000;_of fcheso only 29,605 have registered, leaving somo 11,000 odd to bo accounted for. While the Dopartment is arranging tho preliminaries for bringing the laggards to book, it will bo well if these young gentlemen will hasten to fulfil their obligations. If they can get their registration forms filled up and sent in right away, before legal proceedings are commenced, they will bo accepted.
