At tho Imperial Temperance Conference thero aro delegates present from Victoria, South Australia, and New Zealand; Mr. Kirkpatrick (Agent-General for South Australia) gave interesting details regarding the growth of temperance among Australian Labour members, the majority of whom were teetotallers. 'Tho conference discussed a paper by Dr. Chappie, M.P. for Stirlingshire, and formerly of' Now Zealand, to the effect that total abstinence mado for mental efficiency.
