PUBLIC NOTICES. WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OP INTENTION TO MAKE HATES. NOTICE is hereby given.that the Wellington City Council propo=es at the Ordinary Meetin? to be held at the Town Hall, Wellington, on THURSDAY, tho 29th day of JUNE, 1911, to make anil levy under the provisions of "Tho Rating Act, 1908," and all'other powers enablinc it in that behalf, tho following Kates for tho period commencing on tho Ist day of APIML, 1911, and ending on the 31st day of MARCH, 1912, namely:- , GENERAL RATE. ' A General Rate for the general purpose of the City under Section 78 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," of Twoponco and . One-tonth of a penny (2 1-ind.) in the Pound ou the unimproved rateable value on tho Valuation Roll of all rateablo property within tho City. LIBRARY RATE. A Library Rate under the provisions of Section 90 of "Tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1905," of One-thirteenth of a penny (l-13d.) in the Pound on tho rateable value on tho basis of tho unimproved value of all rateablo property within tho City. HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE. A' Rate under the provisions of Section 41 of "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909," of Twopence and One Farthin* in the Pound on tho annual rateable value on the Valuation Roll on all •rateable property within the City, such rate being required to meet the contributions payable by tho Council to the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. WATER RATE. Water Rate (ordinary supply) under the provisions of Section 83 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1905," as under:—On all land and buildings in tho City used as dwelling-houses to which water is supplied —(a) Whore tho annual rateable value on tha Valuation Roll does not exceed JEI2 10s., a rate of ten shillings; (b) wherosuch annual rateablo value exceeds .£l2 10s., a rato of 2J per cent, on such value. Onehalf of tho respective Water Rates mentioned above on all land and buildings to which water can bo supplied but is not supplied, situate within 100 yards of-any part of tho waterworks, and on all buildings used as stores or warehouses or for any purpose other than dwelling-houses. Alfo, that all the above Rates will be payable in two equal instalments on the second day of JULY and the second day of DECEMBER, 1911. SANITATION RATES. NOTICE is also hereby given that tho Wellington City Council intends to levy a portion equal to Seven Twenty-sixths of a Penny in tho Pound on the unimproved yaluo of the Special Rato of One Shilling in tho Pound (on the annual value) and a portion equal to One twenty-sixth of a Penny in tho Pound (on tho unimproved value) on all rateablo property in tho City as it was bounded prior to its amalgamation with the Borongh of Melrose and on other portions of the City, being tho lands described in the first schedule to "Tho Wellington (City) Suburbs Sanitation Act, 1893," which Special Rates were made and levied under "Tho Wellington City Sanitation Loan Empowering Act, 1892," and "Tho Wellington City Sanitation Loan Act, 1597," respectively for interest and sinking fund for the AVollington Sanitation . Loans raised under tho said Acts, payable by two equal instalments on the. dates fixed in that behalf by tho Special Order making tho said Rate, during the yearly period of the years 1911 and 1912 covered by tho eaid Rate.

CITY IMPROVEMENTS LOAN- . SPECIAL RATE. NOTICE is also hereby c iven that the Wellington City Council intends to levy a portion, equal to One-fifth of, a Penny in tho Pound, on tho. rateablo value on the basis of tho unimproved value of all ' rateablo property in the City of Wolling- ; ton as it was bounded prior to its amalgamation with tho Borough of Melrose of the Special Rate of Sixpence in' the Pound on the annual value of such property for payment of interest on the City . Improvements Loan of .£IOO,OOO, payablo by two equal instalments on tho dates fixed in that behalf by the Special Order making the said rate, during the yearly period of the years 1911 and 1912 covered by the said Rate. MELROSE IMPROVEMENTS LOAN RATE. NOTICE is also hereby given that tho Wellington City Council intends to levy a portion (One-third of a Penny in the Pound) of the Special Rate of Four-fifths of a Penny in tho Pound on the unimproved value on all property in that portion of the City lately included in the Borough of Melroso made and levied under "Tho Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," and their amendments, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and charges in respect of tho Melrose Streets Improvements Loan of .£33,500, payablo by two equal half-yearly instalments on the dates fixed in that bohalf by tho Special Order making tho said Rate, during tho yearly period of the years 1911 and 1912 covered by the said Rale. . OUTLYING DISTRICTS DRAINAGE LOAN RATE.
