The death occurred at Christchurch on Tuesday of Miss Agues M'liae, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John JTBae, of Carterton, after a short illness. Tho funeral took place at Clnreville cemetery on Thursday afternoon. At tho half-yearly meeting of Totara Lodge, U.A.0.D., a challenge to a football match was received from the Oroua Lodjre, Palmerston North, and it was decided to snggest that the match be played at Carterton towards the end of August. Corlett and C. Lee; V.A.B.'s, Bros. B. Eayner and H. Hutcheson; musician, Bro. V. Fairbrnther; auditor, Bro. J. Moncrieff. Bro. M'Kenzie, P.A., was presented with a handsome Past Arch collar, and Bro. R. Canton with a useful watch fob as first pri&e for introducing the most new members during tho year. Bro. W. Abbott received tho second prize, a gold brooch.
