DOMINION NAVIES.
DANGERS TO BE AVERTED,
By Telecrapli-Prcss Association-Copyrieh (Rec. June 15, 9.15 p.m.) 6 London, June 15. "The Times" says it is impossible ti exaggerate the importance of the speed e delivered at I'ontypool by Mr. M'Kenna •- First Lord of the Admiralty, yesterday oi 5 uniformity in naval material. This i: a great thing, but little compared witl t the corresponding standardisation of trnijiing, discipline, and general morale of tin e personnel in the Homo and Domiiuor navies. "The Times" recalls the fact that Lon - Nelson, after the battle of the Nile, said 5 "I had tho happiness to command a band of brothers." The danger that Australia and Canada may lose sight of this i ideal will be averted if tho policy announced by Mr. M'Kenna is steadfastly . carried out. ; If the officers and men of the overseas t fleets are encouraged to qualify in some . proportion in tho parent Navy, one of the ; worst evils arising from tho development of the Dominions' fleets will be nipped ill the bud.
