THE EXHIBITION.
A NIGHT'SSPORTS CARNIVAL ATTENDANCES TO DATE. Up to 10 p.m. yesterday a total of 60.C69 persons have visited the Exhibition, and yesterday 2170 passed through the turnstiles. ■ Tho cash takings for tho day were .£79 os. 3d., as against .£ll9 12s. 9d. for the corresponding day last week. 'Yesterday members.of the Ironmasters' Association of New Zealand now meeting at 'Wellington visited the Exhibition, and expressed themselves as very well pleased with the Exhibition generally; The Tramways Band play selections this evening. HOME INDUSTRIES. The competition for the daintiest camisole or slip bodice attracted about 3G entries, and was won by Miss C. M. Webster, with Miss Dmvling second, and Miss Irene Webster very highly commended. . On Saturday a competition will ba held m this section, for the making and application of poultices and hot fomentations. Miss Kelly and Nurse Sexton will act as judges. STADIUM SPORTS, last evening's sports carnival was well patronised and the gathering was a successful one from every point' of view. The various competitions provided some close finishes, those .taking part appearing to be very keen sportsmen. Following arc the results:— : Mile Run Handicap.—Final: F. Turner, 45yds., ■];• C. During the course of tho evening an exhibition of electric light club-swinging, by ' two young performers, Misses Alma Henry and Miss Doris Lane, was given. The performance was very prettv, the different movements were exceedingly well done. ■ • A friendly game of bowls took place yesterday afternoon in tiie Stadium between teams representing tho Hutt and Wellington Clubs. After an interesting contest. Hutt won by 2G40'i'(327-.f To-nisht friendly bowling .matches'aijd a iloK-piitririg 'competition will he held in the Stadium. Several well-known players have interested themselves in the latter event, and have si°niiied their intention of taking part in the competition. On ..Saturday ■ evening ' another sports gathering will bo held, at which- men-o'-war's men from the vessels in port will take' part. A good programme is bein-r provided, and it is anticipated that a good nisrht's sport will be-seen. Entries for the Wellington ' Amateur Boxing Championships, promoted by the Wellington Boxing Association, to be held at the Exhibition Stadium on June 23 and 21. close v;ith tho secretary on Monday next. . . ENGLISH PIERROTS. Again last evening those talented performers, the English I'iereots, attracted a good audience, tho various items appearing to meet with much approval. During the cfternoon the moving picture show also dr(:W its quota of Exhibition visitors.
