CHARITABLE AID.
The weekly meeting of the Charitable Aid Committee of the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, held yesterday, was attended by Messrs. J, W. M'Ewan (chairman), D. M'Larenj JI.P., It. Fletcher, D. Bobertson, and the Iter. W. A. Evans. A number of applications for relief, 110110 of them presenting any unusual features, were dealt with, aiul in most eases the assistance asked for ■ was granted.
A protest against the use of tin and china wreaths' imported from Germany and Belgium \va« made recently by the Archdeacon of Huntingdon in his visitation charge. He appealed to churehwardons to u-a their influence so that the country churchyard?, at anv rate, might not be made hideous with these Continental importations.
