In his will Mr. Murdoch bequeathed XIOOO to the Jubilee Institute i'or the Blind, Auckland, and (ho balanca to connections in Scotland. The private bequests having been made to connections and not to first-blood relatives the deatli duties in the estate will bo heavy, and it is stated that tho amount which will have to bo paid into the New Zealand Consolidated Fuud on this account will be about .£20,000.
