THE REIKORANGI SCHOOL.
Kir,—l was rather pleased to see in your paper, under tho heading "More Schools—'ret another cry from Rcikorangi," reference was made to the School Committee's letter of July 18, 1010. Tho enclosed copies of further correspondence will show how householders may be misled by inaccurate statements made in public by irresponsible persons.—l am, etc., J. T. KENT. [Enclosures.] The Chairman, Education Board, .Wellington.. Dear Sir,—lt was stated /at the meeting of householders of April 24 that my letter appearing in TnE Dominion about the "Riki" School was the eauso of your board not erecting additions to the "Riki" School. Would you be kind enough to let me know if that statement' is correct or whether any members of your board made such a statement? I did not stand for the committee after hearing it. I would like you to send a copy of the reply to the Reikorangi School Committee, and oblige,—Yours truly, J. T. KENT. Reikorangi, May G, 1011. Education Board, Wellington, May 10, 1911. Mr. J. T. Kent', Reikorangi. Enlargement of School. The chairman desires me to say, in reference to your letter of May 6, that he is not aware that your letter, even if known to members, was mentioned at' the board meeting, and certainly its appearance in Tiie Domixio:: had 'nothing to do with the decision of the board, which was reached in the ordinary course by examination of tho application in the light, of existing regulations. Unfortunately the attendance did not appear to the board to afford any likelihood of a grant being authorised for a new building. G. L. STEWART, Secretary.
