(From Our Special Correspondents.) Wanganui, May 31—Overcast; mild afternoon; indications of rain. Feilding, May 51.—Warm, light rain fell all day, and the clouds aro still full of moisture. Palmerston, May 31.—Bain fell heavily during the night, but the morning was line, though threatening. At 2 p.m. rain again commenced to fall, and looked like setting in for the rest of the day. The last lo'ur days have been remarkably mild—at times quite muggy—and graes has been growing fast. Shannon, May 31—Hain fell on Tuesday ni-jht, and Wednesday was dull and cloudy. Otaki, May 31.—Weather showery, chiefly light, warm rain falling early in the day; heavier showers towards evening. Masterton, May 31.-The Eev. A. Hodges reported at 6 o'clock to-night:—Shade temperature, maximum 64deg., minimum 53deg., mean 58.5dcg.; earth radiation 42 deg.; earth temperature (Ift. below surface!, 54; wind, light northerly; rainfall, one point; weather warm and dull; total rainfall for the month, 2.14 inches; rain having fallen on twelve days. The first time on which the freezing point was reached was on May 1. The first appearance of snow on the Tararuas was on May 23. There was frost on Fcventccn nights, but at no time severe. The weather has been very moderate during the whole month. Featherston, May 31.-Sl;y cloudy; light rain falling on the hills. Grcytowu, May 31.-The weather is verv mild, llaincd all lar.t night. The sky is now cloudy, and rai.ii is probable. Thermometer reading, 6C<lcg. P. The snow lias disappeared from the mountains, and has raised the rivers somewhat.
