STATE OF DISCONTENT 'ALLEGED/"
By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyrieht Ottawa, May 30. Reports of a threatened mutiny on the Canadian cruiser Rainbow, in consequence of bad food, aro denied. Toronto newspapers have published allegations to the effect that the whole of the Canadian naval service is dissatisfied with existing conditions. The Rainbow is a second-class twinscrew protected cruiser of 3600 tons displacement, 7000 horse-power, and eight guns. She was purchased by the Canadian Government last year for use as a naval training ship on the Pacific Coast, and has her headquarters at Esquimault, British Columbia. The Egeria, a smaller vessel, is also stationed on the Pacific Coast as. a training ship.
