NEW ZEALAND ARCH.

e The arch which is to be erected by Now Zealand in Whitehall for the Coronation will be placed in the centre of the roadway just above Whitehall Gardens. The position was fixed at a joint conference of tho High Commissioner of New ZoaIttnd_ with the Westminster Council authorities and the police. It gives the Royal procession adequate space to clear the statue of tho Duko of Cambridge, and return to the centro of tho roadway beforo passing under tho arch, while- its election will not interfere with tho traffic. The road at this point is 85ft. wide. Thero are two refuges, roughly providing three traffic ways. Tho arch will occupy the roadway between the refuges, and will bo from .10ft. to ■10ft. in width. Tho design will l>o in accordance with the scheme of decorations apnroved for Whitehall, and must, therefore, bo classic in style.
