Railway Department's display of various articles which, "made in New Zealand," afford some idea of the resources of tho railway workshops. Tho exhibit does not completely represent the achievements of the Department, for some of. the products aro too large for the space allotted. The collection therefore, does not pretend to bo more than a few specimen exhibits. There are shown,, for- example, truck wheels, in various stages of manufacture, from the rough block of smelted iron—in iWelf an interesting mass of old horse-shoes and the like—to the finished article. The outer tiro of the wheel is the only imported part, being of special manufacture, and beyond our present resources. A large acetylene headlight, made in New Zealand, of course, and equipped with a generator, also figures in-the display, with a.profusion of various articles—rlubricators, match strikers, chair-bottoms for rail-

way carriages. On the walls above aro a sot of photographs of the various types of locomotive, engines, in which t'hn Main Trunk express engine stands out ;is a great giant.

Particulars of the Exhibition Stadium sports programme for Wednesday night aro advertised in this issue.

The homo nursing first aid demonstration will be held in the Exhibition to-night, commencing at 8 o'clock.
