AT THE EXHIBITION.
ANOTHER BRISK DAY.
CENTRES OF ATTRACTION. The Coronation Exhibition is a great centre of attraction in Wellington and every visit reveals now objects of interest to old and young. Yesterday it attracted largo , numbers of sight-seers during the. day and in tho evening the buildings were filled by largo crowds. All. sections'of tho big show wero liberally patronised, from the elevated sports, stadium to the theatre, stalls, and booths on the ground level. In the evening there was an animated scene. Tho entertainment sections wero well patronised and the tea-rooms and refreshment stall did a thriving trade. Tho industrial exhibits wero by no means neglected. As to-day will be the first Saturday upon which the Exhibition has been open a great attendance is almost certain to be recorded. Cookery exhibitions by experts -engaged the attention of many at the Exhibition yesterday. Attention' is drawn-to a-new manner of making coffee in :tho Electrical Department's pavilion. The coffee is contained in a glass globe with' an open top and a perforated bottom, and the coffee is made by the water boiling up between the inner and outer globes and percolating through the coffee into the cof-fee-pot proper. The cakes and scones baked in the electric oven are the acme of lightriess. ' An arrangement has been made with' Thos. Ballinger and Co. for the Technical School cookery classes to give demonstrations every Wednesday evening ill their apartment in the annexe. The Union Steam Ship Company has fitted up an attractive exhibit in "J" Store, consisting of a number of splendid models of some of their steamers, namely tho "Marama, Maori, Mahenp, and Mararoa!. No detail is missing from the deck equipment of these, vessels and everything has been' built to scale. The workmanship is superb, and bears the closest inspection. There is also a large.model of the Orient Company's steamer Otway, which in a gem in model-building on.an elaborate scale. This exhibit is bound to attract a great deal of attention during the. next two months. . • THE STADIUM. A little skating was indulged in at tho Stadium last evening, and skaters report that now. the floor has been thoroughly cleaned it is proving most satisfactory. On Thursday and Friday next there will be skating during the whole of the evening. Arrangements have been made with the English Pierrots to institute a continuous' picture show during the daytime. This will probably be in readiness for'a start to be mado en Monday next.. ■' . . . There will;be a skating race on Thursday and Friday evening next—post entries at tho Stadium.' There will also be a tug-of-war on Thursday evening, to lend variety to the proceedings. 'The Sports Committee-has appointed Mr. Barry Keesing to take charge of the Stadium, and athletes and others desiring information as to coming events are asked to communicate with him, or address correspondence to him, care of Mr. H. F. Allen, Customhouse Quay, or at the secretary's office in tho Exhibition.
