Lawrence, May, 24.- . .The Gabriel's Gully 'jubilee' celebrations wero continued to-day in splendid weather. This afternoon a -sports meeting and seven, aside football. tournament attracted several • hundred people. A number of races.for pioneers wore held and entered into, with great spirit. This evening a complimentary dinner -was held, and very largely attended. The toast of the evening was "Men of .'(SI," which was proposed by Mr. J. C. Browne, secretary of the Jubilee Committee, and responded to by several pioneers. At. tho close of the gathering the pioneers showed their appreciation of the efforts of the Mayor of Lawrence (Mr. .Tas.- Robertson) in bringing tho celebration': to such.a successful issue by presenting him with a gold watch and locket, a presentation also being made to.Mrs. Robertson. To-morrow; the .'pioneers-will be tendered a picnic in the afternoon and a smoke concert in the evening. CHARGES AGAINST NATIVES, • Dargaville, May 24.
