Wedding at Petone. ' Yesterday afternoon (writes our Potone correspondent) Miss Rose Gertrude Thomp-" son, youngest daughter of Mrs. Thompson, of Petone, was married to Mr. George Rose, eldest son of Mr. H. Rose, also of Petone. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Potter at the Primitive Methodist Church, Petone. The bride, who was given, away by Mr. M'Gavern, wore a pretty white embroidered Vienna robe, with the usual veil and orange' blossoms. She was attended by Miss Emmie Rose, who- wore a cream serge costume, with saxe blue hat, and carried a bouquet of cream rosps and chrysanthemums, and also by tho Misses Doris Woodham and Effie Vincent, who woro. white ' muslin' frocks, with lavender' sashes. Mr. J. Roso was best man, and Mr, C. Woodham groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Ranfurly Hall. Among the presents received was a marble clock from the staff of the Petone Railway Workshops, with Which the bridegroom is associated, and a silver cruet from the Good Templars' Lodge, of which Mr. and Mrs. Rose were members. Tho bride's travelling frock'was a- navy blue tailor-made, with an electric blue hat. Wedding at Hikorangi. Yesterday, at Hikorangi, wires our Masterton correspondent, the marriage took place of Miss Lucy Martin, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. M'Gregor, of Hikorangi, and Mr. Herman jSiitz, third son of tho late Mr. Herman fritz. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Aloxnndor 'Thompson, of Cart?rton. The bride was attended by Miss Isabel M'Gregor and Miss Barbara M'Gregor, and tho bridegroom by'Mi\ E.'Nifz' as best man, and Mr. C. Codey as groomsman. Tho bridegroom's present to tho .bride was a silver dressing-ca;e, and to tho bridesmaids wpro given pearl and amethyst brooches. A large number of guests were present, many from considerable distances. They included Mr. E. M'Gregor, Miss M'Gregor, and Miss Holder, of Hamilton, Mrs. and Miss Elsmlie, Mrs. F. M'Donald, nnd Messrs. Elsmlie. of Waverley, Mr. and Mrs. J. M'Gregor, Mr. David M'Gregor, and tho Misses M. and D. M'Gregor, of Wang'anni, Mr. F. F. Hockly, of Hunterville, Mr. A. Hockly, and the Misses Hockly, of Bunnythorpe, Mr. and Mrs. Sneddon, of Hukanui, .Mr. . and Mrs. York, of Bank View, Mr;' and ■Mrs. Freshaw, of Brackenfield, and others. The; Late Mrs. R. The late. >Mrs. Johnson was the widow, of Captain _R.'-Johnson, for many years Nautical Adviser to the NewZealand Government. This afternoon, Dr. Edith Huntley gives an address at the Pioneer Club. It will be of special interest to teachers, and ; for their convenience, Dr: Huntley has timed it to be given at half-past four. Yesterday morning at Fcilding the marriage was celebrated of Miss Harriet Hicks, eldest daughter of Mr. J. Hicks, of Fcilding, to Mr. Rutherford, of Pakihikura. The ceremony took place in Wesley Church, and the Rev. A. B. Chappall officiated. Miss Sophie Hicks and. M'iss Rutherford were the bridesmaids, and the bridegroom was attended by Mr. Younger, as best man. The' chaperoncs at St. Feter's tenth annua] dance, which takes place on Wednesday, June 28, are: Mesdamps Bell, Gilmer, Perry, and -Sexton. The committee, comprises: Messrs. G. Bell, A. Butler, J. Harrison, G. Lawrence, F. G. Mayor, A. L. Maysmor, H. W. Miilier, R. Walton, and A. G. Williams. A quiet wedding was celebrated in(Masterton yesterday, when Mr. W. Taylor, of Beaumaris, East Coast, was married to Miss Elsie Smith, daughter of Mr. C. A. Smith, of Bannister Street.
