ST. JOHN'S DEBATING SOCIETY.
St. John's Literary and Debating Society held its weekly meeting in the Willis Street. Classroom on Friday evening, when "Selections from Favourite Authors" occupied the attention of members. Some dozen readings were given, mostly humorous, Dickens s works prodominating. A very pleasant evening was spent. The debate for next Friday is , "That the Attitude of Labour in Now Zealand is Hindering tho Development of the Country."
