At the Shirley links to-day matches wero played between tlio Christchurch and Wellington Golf Glubs. In the morning the games consisted of four-ball -foursomes; and tho match resulted in a tie, each side winning two games. Tho following are the scores:A. .T. Abbott and K. Duncan (Wellington) beat B. C. Rutherford and C. Treweek (Christchurch), 8 \ip and 7 to play. W. Harmau anil J. Bortliwick (Christchurch) boat E. Read and L. C. Hales' (Wellington), i up and 3 to play. A. Duncnn and J. C. Bidwill (Wellington) beat 13. B. Wood and H. E. Wright (Christchurch), 2 up and 1 to play. C. K. Sams and J. Forbes (Cliristehurch) beat J. B. MacEwnn and li. Kidston (Wellington), i up and 3 to play. . Totals: Wellington, 2 gamesi Christchurch, 2 games. In the afternoon a match was played for the Tuson Challenge Clip, which was presented to the Wellington Golf Club by Colonel Tuson. The conditions are that the Cup shall be ployed for twice a year, at Wellington in October and at Cliristchurcli in May. The first match played last October was won by Wellington, and to-day's contest was won by the Christchurch Club by one game. In the Manawatu Golf Chili's bogey competition, on the Hokowhitii links, on Saturday, the. weather was excellent, and a great many competed. L. Scifert did the vt>rv good round of SO, and returned a capital card of 2 up on bogey, his handicap being 2; but the'best cfird was sent , in by a long-handieap man, 11. C. Mellsop (handicap 11)— iup on bogey. Dr.'Stowoalso did a good round, his score being 2 up with 11 handicap,'and L. Ste'diiian lup with' 7 handicap. In the juiiior competition M. Waldegrave was the winner, with 1 down on bogey, liis handicap being 0/ MIRAMAR' CLUB. The Iwgoy competition of file Miramatf Golf Club on Saturday afternoon was played under mo«t unfavourable weather conditions, the high wind preventing any good scores being recorded. Twenty members compiled, and the result was a ic between T. Brodic and .1. 1 , . Firth, who will pla\> off at a later date. Ivext halnrday the club will send a team to tho.
