BUSH MURDER MYSTERY.
& SUSPECTED MAN ON A TRAIN. l)y Association-Copyriebt Perth, May 20. A warrant has been issued for tho nrrest of David Smithson in connection with tho murder of Miss Compton at Woodlupine. Tho suspected man was formerly a tram conductor, and he has been missing from his lodgings since the night of the tragedy. Yesternight a man resembling the accused called at the Bayswater Railway Station, four miles from Woodltipiuo, and asked for a ticket for Perth. ■ On being told that a train was not due for some hours he became excited, ran across the line, and jumped on u train which was proceeding in tho opposite direction. The man's dishevelled appearance startled a lady passenger, who screamed, and the guard stopped tho train. The man sprang out and disappeared in the scrub. Trackers are following the trail.
