To-day the Acting-Prime Minister (the Hon. J. Carrol!), the Hon. G. Fowlds, the Hon. J. A. Millar, and the Hon. A. T. Kgata will be in Wellington; tho Hon. T. Mackenzie in Auckland; the Hon. K. M'Konzio in Otago; and tho Hon. D. Buddo at Oxford.

The Hon. T. Fergus and Mrs. Fergus arrived from the south by the Mararca on Saturday.

The Hon. T. Mackenzie left Wereroa on Saturday for Auckland, where, to-day, ho will open tho Winter Show.

The Rev. J. T. Phillips, of Tenui, has tendered his resignation to tho Anglican Diocesan Synod, aud will leave for England in October.

Mr. W. 11. Hovrios, M.P., is to deliver a political address at Palmcrston North to-morrow evening.

Mr. Peter Thomson, for some years on the head office stall' of tho Bank of Now Zealand, has been appointed manager of tho Bank at Wanganui. The appointment is a popular one, and Mr. Thomson has been congratulated all round by his many friends by whom ho is held in high esteem.

Mr. J. R. Blair, chairman of the Wellington Investment, Trustee, and Agency Company, will leave on a trip to Australia by tho Warrimoo on Thursday.

Mr. James' Orr, formerly manager of the Rangitira sheep station, for the Glasgow Bank Assets Compiiny, died in Gisbor.no last week. He had been a resident of tho district since 1878. Mr. Thomas Arthur, of Ilobson,Street, has received cable advice that his son, ■Mr. S. IL Arthur, has passed his third examination in medicine, and has secured first and second-class honours in class examinations. Mr. Buxton (the present member, for Geraldine), and Mr. W. Jeffries (a candidate at the last election). Colonel Hnyluirst, and Mr. G. W. Armitaßc, all three Oppositionists, are mentioned as probable candidates for Geraldino at tho next election.—Press Association. . Mr. George Innes, manager of ( the Bank of New Xialand at Wanganui, has received word of his promotion to tho management of the Auckland branch. Dr. AV. B. 0. Ferguson, who came out to New Zealand as surgeon on the Morayshire, has signed off that ship, and intends to practise in AVclJington.
