MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Police casesat the Magistrate's Court on Saturday were disposed of very quickly. Maurice Stacey, a stcviard off the B-M.S. lonic, pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness, but stated that he did not remember making use of improper language. Ho was convicted, however, and fined £3, with the option of U days' imprisonment. On the charge of drunkenness, ho was convicted and discharged. Michael Collins, charged with drnnkenness, was fined 205., in default to undergo 7 days' imprisonment. A first-offending inebriato, who did not appear, .w,as ordered to forfeit hia bail of 10s., or undergo 2i hours' imprisonment. Tour other firstoffenders wero convicted and discharged. MOUNT COOK POLICE COURT. At the Mount Cook Police Court on featurday, before Mr. T. S. Lambert, J.P., three first offenders, charged with drunkenness,, were dealt with as follow:— One, who had been bailed out, hot appearing, was fined 10s., the amount of tho bail, or the usual alternative; each of tho others plended guilty, was admonished, convicted, and discharged
