DEATH OF PROFESSOR CHECCH!.

The "Catholic Times" of -April 7 announces the death in Rome of Monsignor Chccchi, who, tip to a short time ago, filled the Chair of Moral Theology in Propaganda College. The aged priest died at the Hospital"of the Little Company of Mary. A touching mark of affection for the memory of their old professor was shown by tho students of the various colleges with which ho had been connected during his long, stron.ious life. Borne upon tho shoulders of his pupils, the remains of _ tho great theologian were 'accompanied'to tho parish church, of St. Maria in Aquiro by the students of tho North American College, the, Vatican Seminary, the Propaganda and Oapraniean Colleges, and by a largo number of priests, all vested iii surplice and cassock. At tho Office for the Dead aud tho solemn Requiem that followed, tho-Patriarch of Antioah, ; the Patriarch of Constantinople, representing the Cardinal Vicar of Rome, various Bishops, the heads of all the colleces affiliated to Propaganda, and some hundreds of priests and students were present to pay a last tribute to ono who gained the 'respect and love of all classes.
