LIVE STOCK SALES.
Messrs. Dalgety anil Company report:— At our Feildiiiß sale yesterday there was a good yarding of sheep, and a fair yarding of cattle. Sheep: Small wethers, lCs.: two-tooth ewes, lis. Sd. to lis. 9d.; fat and forward ewes, lis.; empty ewes. 4s. sd. to 55.; ewe lambs, 6s. 9d. to 7s. 6d.; wether lambs, ss. 6d. to 6s. Id. Cattle: Fat bullocks, £3 to £8 7s. 6d.
Jlcssrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd. (Palmerston North branch) report:—At our Itimtervillo rale, on Tuesday, only a small yarding of stock came to hand, which sold as below:—Aged ewes, 3s. 7d..; medium lambs, to ss. 9d.; medium two-tooth wethers, to 10s. lid.; mixed-age ewes in lamb to 7s. lid.; light fat ewes, to 12s. At our Taihapo rale on Wednesday a very fair yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle came to hand. Also a number of light horses, whieh sold as below:—Mixed weaners, to 28s. 6d.; light unbroken horses, to, £3 17a. 6(1.. Sheep; Cull lambs, 2s. sd.j small lambs, to 55.; empty ewes, ss. 7d. to_ 6s. 4d.; good mixed lambs, to 7s. Id.; mixcd-ngo ewes in lamb, to 7s. 6d.; light fat and forward 'ewes, to 10s. Id.
Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report, having held their weekly sale at Ekctahuna, yesterday. The report states:— Owing to the- very rough weather experienced during the last few days, we only had a limited entry. Sheep showing any quality sold at prices in excess of lato values. Poorer sorts were neglected. V7c quote:-Shcep: Lamb, is. 9d. to 7a. 7d.; f.m. ewes in lamb, ss. 7d., 6s. 9d., to 7s. 6d.; tyro-tooth empty ewes (poor sorts), 7s. 2d. Ao cattle were yarded.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co. (Dannevirke branch) report tho following Eato during tho weeh:-.Uonday, 3lay 15: Woodvillc sale —Yarded 80 cattle and 400 sheep. Cattle realised good prices, but sheep sold below value. AVe effected the following sales:— 22 three-year steers, £5 12s. 6d.; 13 mixed weaners, 225. 6d. and 335. 6d.; 9 weaner heifers, 255. 6d.; 48 two and four-tooth ewes in .lamb, lis. Bd.; 60 breeding ewe's, ss. Makotuku sale, Hay 17: —276 empty ewes realised from 4s. 2d. to Bs. 3d.; 4 fat heifers, £4 10s.; empty cows. 15s. to £1. On Thursday wc held a very successful clearing sale at Te Papaknku, on account W. W. Thorby. Despite the very stormy weather, buyers turned up in good numbers, and tho prices realised were very satisfactory; 24 cows were sold, ranging in prices from £3 12s. 6d. to £8 155., aud the herd averaged £6. weaners at 18s. 6d„ lambs at 10s. 6d. Various odds aud ends sold well. Yesterday we held a small but shecessful. clearing sale for Mrs. Foil at Norsewood. Only ten cows wore offered and sold, but the average price obtained was £6 12s. Other rales effected were:— Bull. £3. 17s. 6d.; four heifers at £4 55.; weaners, 255.; mare, £4.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report for tho week ended May 15 as follows:—At Feilding on Friday we had a heavy entry of sheep, and a representative yarding of cattle. The quality of she shesp yarded was not very rjood, and wc passed in a larse portion of our entry. Wo emote:—Empty ewes, 4s. Bd.; ewes in lamb to F.omncy rams, 9s. 9d.; forward empty ewes, 6s. 10d. to 9s. 9d.; mixed lambs, 4s. 2d. to 4s. 7d.; cull ewes, 4s. 7d.; store cows, £2, £2 55.. to £2 17s. 6d.; cows in calf, £2 55.; heifers in calf, £2 2s. 6d.; forward empty- cows, £3 165.; forward empty heifers. £3 lEs. 6d.; fat cows, £6 10s.: springing heifers, £5 175., £5.175. 6d., £6, to £7 lis.
