As the successful tenderers, Messrs, Lucas Browne, arts to pay tho council £5900 for tho riiilit to display advertisements in tho car* during a period of throe it must be conceded that tho municipality has made an excellent bargain. Unaccepted tenders wero those of E. P. Chandler, Auckland (£2000), aud tho Dominion Sign Company (£1030). Tho contract, as signed, is based on the original specifications, without modification, and tho requirements of tho council in regard to sureties havo been complied with by tho contractors.
