BLAZE AT JOHNSONVILLE... : A fire at Jolinsonvillo in the small hours of Saturday morning, resulted in tlic total destruction of a six-roomed dwelling, owned by Mr. 1\ Simeon, and occupied by Sir. Wostwood, The inmates had to make a Lurried exit from tho burning building, and they lost practically everything. A firo in a five-roomed dwelling, at 49 Roxburgh Street,-claimed the' attention of the tiro Brigade at, "half-past 8 o'clock' on Saturday night. Tho dining-room and contents were damaged, and the rest of tho houso. suffered by heat and smoke. A man named — Vice, a resident of Paraparaumu, fell off a tram in the city on Saturday night, and was removed to the Hospital suffering from concussion of the brain. PAINFUL OCCURRENCE. • A lad, named Arthur Harding, tight years of age, was admitted to tlio Hospital, on Saturday evening suffering from severe injuries to his hands, 'tho result of having them cunglit in machinery. Part of three lingers on the left hand, and ono finger on the right hand, wcto amputated. SEVERE SCALP. WOUND. A porter, named David Grinton, 47 years of age, and a resident of Dixon Street, was overtaken by a fit yesterday, and, falling, sustained a severe scalp wound, irhicli necessitated his removal to tho Hopital. TENDONS OF HAND CUT. William Clarke, cabinetmaker, of 4S Mein Street, was admitted to the Hospital yesterday suffering trom severe injuries to his left hand, some of the tendons being cut.
